Degen

After the disgusting bubble in the 75 token game, I - again - lost my fucking mind and played cash games and sit n goes so aggressively that I was essentially giving money away.

Another 75 token race!

So with my token that I earned last night, it was time to donk it off in a 75 token race. With big hands early on, KK knocking out a donkey with q7, and stealing blinds with qq and other big aces, I was off to a great start and hopefully a token finish. A win tonight would be fantastic because IT IS FUCKING COLD ALL OF A SUDDEN. Literally cold enough to freeze my balls off today, I need to invest in some long johns or something... Anyways, I'm trucking along in the sng, and then this happens :(

Oh well, he'll go out if he keeps playing like that.

SURPRISE! Although it wasn't a poor move at all, I knocked his bitch ass the fuck out a little later with jj, he pushed my pot size raise, so I had to call about 300 more. He shows aqs, so we were off to the races. The flop comes
A (mother fucker) 3 (sigh) J (HOLY SHIT YES!) turn and river bricked the fuck out and he was done.

Later, with 99 on the button, 10 playaz left, I raise the pot and get pushed by the small stack in the sb. I call and he shows ato. Flop is A (doh) 3 (damnit man) 9 (AGAIN?! OH HELL YEAH! PAY BACK FOR ALL MY MISSED FLOPS WITH SMALL PPS!) Again the last 2 brick and its time for the final table.

At this point I decided to play only aks, aa, kk and qq. So a few hands later when I see qq utg, I pot raise and its folded around, at which point I show and go back to posting and folding with the chip lead.

This is taking forever, all the wrong people (short stacks) are winning their races :(.

About 20 minutes later we still have 9 left, and the blinds are HUUUUUGE.

The blinds get bigger much later with 8 left, and I'm now the third shortest stack...

Later, I'm swapping last place with the ss when the blinds come around, and I've gone from first to last. I see 55 utg and I push, its folded to the bb who calls with ajo. I of course can not win this coinflip, and get knocked out 7th, on the mother fucking bubble. Good game.

Back to token sngs

Being well rested, and having had a chance to calm down was very nice. I also think I got higher than an 86% on my econ test today, securing my A in the class. So it was time to try a turbo sng before soccer. For this sng I decided to try to be more aggressive, utilizing my skill in post flop play rather than pushing or folding the entire sng. When raising 9to from lp with 1 limper, the button and the limper called. The flop came 338, 2 clubs, so when the limper checked I bet about 2/3 and the button folded, and the limper called. The turn brought my money card, a 9, unless he limped an overpair preflop or is playing some sort of 3, I had the best hand. I pushed all of my chips and he called with 44. He did not improve and I was up and could relax for a few hands until the turbo blinds put me all in in about 4 minutes. Later with the short stack of about 600 chips on the button and me in the bb with kk, its folded to him who limps, sb folds and I raise, he re raises and I put him all he, he turns over aces, no improvement. I get called a donkey. Donkey indeed. Later I see 99 in the bb, and push into the utg+1 pot raiser who calls with ako. He doesn't improve, and I win yet another coinflip! At this point I have the big stack with only 10 left. Now it is time for me to wait and let the pawns kill themselves to give me my token. And just as I hoped after folding pretty decent hands like aqo etc, I got my token.

10 + 1

Fuming over the terrible terrible occurence in the last sng, I decided to try a cash sng, seeing as how the tokens are simply not working out. Early on I have qko, I raise it and get called. Flop comes j52, I cbet after he checks, the sb calls, turn is a q, he bets and I push, and the fucking dick head folds. Next hand I get kk. So what do I do utg, I raise the pot. I get called by two idiots, and the flop is aq7. I fold after checking to their retarded bet. A few hands later with kts, I raise from lp, and get re raised. At this point I know I'm way behind, and am probably hoping for a flush. I call anyway and when the board gives me a ten I raise his pot size bet and he goes all in. I knew I was behind the whole way but I call anyways and he shows his fucking queens. I did not improve, and went out 6th out of 6. What a good game that was.

24 + 2, 18 max

Immediately after winning the token, I put it to good use with my new found luck in an 18 max $24+2, $75 token race. Being used to the quick pace of a turbo, it was a wierd feeling to play more than 3 hands, but a welcome one. So playing the boring old SUPER tight strategy, I made it to the final table as a very short stack. Luckily, I got some big hands - which I don't think is too much to ask out of 60 hands, for one of them to be push worthy.
On the first bubble I was on the button with 99, the shortstack with 2 bets utg pushed, so I repushed when it was folded to me, and big stack mc dumbfuck calls my bet from the bb. The shorty shows a2s in clubs, the big stack with aqo. So the flop falls k52 rainbow, and I can taste the second bubble. But of course, the turn is an ace, killing me and giving both of them better hands. River brought a ten and I am knocked out in 8th place.

Good fucking game.

18 max, 8.70

After my econ review tonight, I got some panda express with courtney. I decided to play poker tonight after my fortune read "luck is in your favor, proceed in your endeavors" or some shit like that, so maybe I can win a coinflip tonight. Seated in LP, perhaps my luck was changing... But, approaching level 6 with only 1 person out, I knew I was in for another crapshoot, so we would soon find out what exactly was happening with my luck tonight.
Yes, it happened. My luck is back. I LOVE THE CHINESE AND THEIR FORTUNES!
Heres the gem that showed me that my luck is back:

Full Tilt Poker Game #1316348428: Tier One $8+$0.70 (Turbo) (9223680), Table 2 - 120/240 - No Limit Hold'em - 22:33:54 ET - 2006/11/27

cdogg131 shows a flush, Ace high
Roy L Shaft shows two pair, Aces and Kings
cdogg131 wins the pot (4,260) with a flush, Ace high

And when I saw the cards I thought he was going to make a flush, hah!

Finally at the final table with blinds of 300-600, I push from the button with tt, and get called by the bb who has a9, board bricks and I take the pot, and can post and fold to victory.
After a grueling 15 minutes, 6th went out with kj vs qq, and I won my token.

18 max 8.70 turbo

Starting in the bb again, I saw 44, hoping to see a limped flop, but the button pushed - on the first hand, so my dreams of hitting a set for once in my life again were destroyed.
2 hands later I get jacks on the button. 1 (utg) limper, I pot raise, the blinds and utg limper all fold. 1555 chippos. It is folded to me in the sb a few hands later, so I minraise the bb with a4o, this was mostly for comedic purposes but it turned out to be lucrative when he called and I flopped middle pair and min bet to victory, he folded on the flop and shipped the chips.
Later, in the bb with QTo, 1 limper and the sb folded, the flop came jk7, 2 hearts, and a oesd for me. the limper min bet so I called and the turn brought the third heart. I checked and after the limper min bet again I raised to 3x and he folded away.
At this point in the tournament, we experienced what I will call "gay". I sat and waited and really there was no action at either table until the blinds were about 120/240, at which point it was a crapshoot for the remaining 14 players.
With ATs in the bb, blinds at 150-300, I called all in from the button's push, putting him on an under pair giving me a 50% chance. I lost. Surprise I did not win one coinflip all day out of at least 7. The odds on losing 7 coinflips in a row is appoximately .0078125.

Someday I will win a coinflip, and maybe even a token.

At 11:53 it was time to start this SNG, so I donned the 'angry' face, and off we went. I started off with good luck by being placed in the big blind; and with a shitty hand, I prepped myself for the typical 'fold unless you need to steal, or have a premium hand' strategy. Pretty boring, but very easy to cash.
The first hand I played was a(c)j(h), from utg+1, with blinds at 25-50, the small blind called, and the flop came q(s)k(d)5(d), he checked and I c-bet 250 into the 400 pot, and he folded leaving me with 1680 in chips.
The next hand I played was Q3 suited in hearts, (40-80) from the big blind it was folded to sb who completed. The flop brough a(s)q(s)9(d), sb min bet, I called, and when the turn brought a 6(h) the sb bet 320, and I folded.
A few hands later I saw a(c)a(h) in the cutoff, it was folded to me, and I raised the pot to 350 and the blinds folded.
Later in middle position, I stole the blinds with a9o.
Man the blinds go quick in these turbos.
The next hand I played was a k(d)4(c), checked around on the flop of 9(d)j(d)5(c), the turn brought the 4(d). I called the buttons bet of 120 giving me 4:1 on my flush draw, and the river bricked out so I checked and folded.
Soon enough the blinds were at 80-160, and I only had 1390 in chips, forcing me to start finding spots to push at.
I made my first steal in the sb with 95o when it was folded to me. I minraised and he folded away his 200 chips.
The very next hand with an unsuited qk, I pushed from mp, only to get insta called by aces and lose the hand, and get knocked out in 11th.

In the beginning

There was me, and there was online poker. There was lots of other stuff too, but mostly online poker. I am starting this in hopes that I will finally be able to remember my poker career's progression. So, after about a week's worth of play starting at $100, I am at exactly $118.44. I'm using a strategy that is supposedly very easy to build a bankroll with - satelliting, and turning 6 dollars into hundreds. Wish me luck.
